In 2011, a group of fresh, dreamy and young kids came together with the sole aim of making honest theatre with stories that ran parallel to our own pains and memories.

 

Some of us hadn’t even completed puberty. We were tiny, eager flies drawn to the same flame, the same dream of creating art to help us make sense of the world.

 

Five shows later, we have grown up and so has Bound Theatre. From a self-funded space that we carved out to simply make art that was familiar to us, it has now evolved into a (still) self-funded space that invites us and fellow collaborators to explore and dissect new and exciting ways for us to tell stories.

 

The Core Team is a jigsaw of different backgrounds, ranging from communications to philosophy to applied theatre, but like the tiny eager flies from before, we are all still drawn to the same flame and dream of making theatre that balances accessibility with aesthetics. And like always, we welcome collaborators from all backgrounds and with all kinds of experiences to join us in fueling that flame, that dream.
